Chicago Artist, Ty Nitz, and his path to becoming a Contemporary Fine Artist

Welcome to the world of Ty Nitz, a Chicago-based contemporary fine artist known for his bold and captivating creations that explore the dynamic interplay of color and texture. Ty's portfolio showcases a diverse range of oversized works, each a testament to his unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression through multidimensional mixed-media pieces.

Influenced by a rich tapestry of artistic visionaries, Ty draws inspiration from the rebellious spirit of graffiti artist Banksy, the vibrant pop art of Andy Warhol, the innovative use of unconventional shapes by Pablo Picasso, the courageous creativity of Michelangelo, and the contemporary urban art of Montreal's Stikki Peaches.

Ty's journey into the world of art began as an avid collector, immersing himself in the vibrant tapestry of the art world. Through nurturing relationships with gallery owners and fellow artists in Chicago, Miami, New York, Austin, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, Ty gained invaluable insights into the inner workings of the industry. This unconventional path provided him with a unique perspective that continues to inform his artistic vision, enriching his work with a depth of understanding that sets it apart.

Having called Chicago home for over two decades, Ty made a pivotal decision in 2020 to fully embrace his passion for art, bidding farewell to the corporate world and dedicating himself entirely to his craft. Nestled within the historic Del Rey Tortilla Factory in Chicago's vibrant Pilsen Art District, Ty's art studio serves as a crucible of creativity, a space where his artistic vision comes to life in vibrant and captivating forms.

Ty's artistic journey has been punctuated by notable showcases, including a variety of solo exhibitions. During his educational years as a teenager, Ty had two works of art displayed at the prestigious Art Institute in Chicago Since 2021, Ty’s original artwork and murals have been featured at the Hoxton Hotel Chicago, River North Design District Gallery Walk, Nora Schneider Interior Designs, IA Interior Architects Headquarters, Uniland Corp in Detroit, Ivy Hall Dispensary, SCI Customs, Frame Chicago and the iconic Vienna Beef Sausage Company, a testament to the widespread acclaim and recognition his work has garnered.

As Ty continues to captivate audiences with his evocative creations, he invites you to join him on a journey of artistic exploration, where each brushstroke tells a story and every composition invites you to see the world through a prism of color, texture, and boundless creativity.
