Pixie Stix | 24x24
Purchased by Kelly A | Chicago, IL
This piece is the fourth rendition of my abstract series titled, Stix. For this version, I decided to use a smaller surface compared to the other paintings. I envisioned tighter stripes that span across the canvas in order to depict a cleaner abstract style. The base layer of lines includes various color tones, all of which differ in width. I then added a metallic rose pink spray paint layer that created a translucent coat by slightly absorbing each color in the background. For the final layer, I chose color hues from the classic sugar based candy, pixie sticks. The three layers blended each line and color better than I imagined.
