This custom piece was created for a close friend of mine who reminds me that life is what you make of it and how you can impact others through heart and passion. A man that doesn’t ask for acknowledgement for his actions, which in turn makes me want to be a better man. As I began to create this painting, I wanted to emphasize his love for the sea and other elements of the earth. Throughout the creative process, the song Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac played in the background numerous times. I was compelled to learn about the origins of the song, which describe a feeling of nostalgia + longing for a free-spirited lifestyle. These lyrics are sung over a calming, comforting tone that invoke the type of easy-going memories that we once experienced. It is an homage to the moments in life that we yearn for, while pursing new beginnings and embracing the present day.
