Dad Jokes | 36x24 | Framed
This is the first in a series titled, Words of Art. As a creative, I have learned that rejection is part of life and to not take it personal. I now see it as a good thing because it gets me one more step towards success. I centered this piece around how my artwork is perceived with the overarching theme of “laughing with you, not at you.”
To bring this idea to life, I first thought of The Joker from my Batman series, the Gotham Files. I then applied a few mixed-media and graffiti techniques that I have used recently. This included bringing the Joker off the black canvas with modeling paste + gel. I also incorporated a neon graffiti glow method using six variations of color in order to build depth. This approach allowed me to blend each layer subtly without overtaking the letters in foreground.
Laughs and art are good for the soul, here’s too many more.
